A strong economy in California has allowed the state to finally pay off its federal unemployment insurance loans. This means that the state federal unemployment tax (FUTA) rates should go back to the minimum rates by the end of 2018.

New California Labor Law For Employers: E-Filing And E-Pay

January 1, 2017 will bring a number of changes for employers in California. One of these will be the new rules for e-pay and e-filing.

A new California labor law, AB 1245, has mandated the electronic submission of tax returns, wage reports and payroll deposits for all California employers. The law applies to all employers who had at least 10 full-time employees (FTE) in 2016.

California Labor Law To Require E-file And E-pay For Employers

In August 2015, Assembly Bill 1245 was passed, which created a new California labor law requiring employers to electronically submit tax returns, wage reports, and payroll tax deposits.
