FUTA Credit Reduction Update: California

Once again, employers in California will be faced with another reduction in the FUTA credit. And another increase in payroll costs of $126 per employee.

Employers in four jurisdictions are likely to see Federal Unemployment Tax Act credit , or FUTA, reductions for 2016, according to the U.S. Labor Department.

California Labor Law: E-Filing And E-Pay For Employers [Infographic]

A New California Labor Law Mandates Electronic Submission of Tax Returns, Wage Reports, and Payroll Tax Deposits for All Employers

According to the Employment Development Department (EDD) website, beginning on January 1, 2017, employers with 10 or more employees will be required to electronically submit employment tax returns, wage reports, and payroll tax deposits to the EDD.

Affordable Care Act Filing Deadline Is Here

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting deadline for Form 1094-C and 1095-C electronic filing is Thursday, June 30, 2016.

While traditionally ALEs would be able to request an extension by submitting Form 8809 on or before the due date of the return for an automatic extension, the IRS has declared the reporting deadline extension will serve as an automatic extension for all employers and no one may request an additional extension beyond June 30, 2016.

California Labor Law To Require E-file And E-pay For Employers
