If you are like most small business owners today, you wear multiple hats in order to manage many aspects of your company.  

Often you will see the head of a company handling sales, marketing, operations, bookkeeping and payroll management.  The reasons for this are plenty; I cannot justify, financially, adding another worker, I like to have control over the process of all aspects of the business.  Regardless, of the reasons, spreading yourself too thin could have disastrous effects on your business, especially when it comes to handling payroll.

Mayor Ed Lee is proposing a $15 per hour minimum wage measure for the November ballot, which would place San Francisco in the stratosphere with its Pacific Northwest rival Seattle, where the city council got the nation's attention last week by boosting the minimum to $15.

Many business owners make the mistake of assuming their payroll is better handled in house. They want control of their data, informational protection and financial savings. Occasionally in house payroll processing is the right fit, but the vast majority of businesses will quickly find the decision to manage their own payroll to be all consuming and costly in more ways than they imagined. Outsourcing your payroll is a much better solution for many businesses.
